Construction Project Starts at Rabbit Island

Kep: Deputy Governor of Kep Vao Sokha has announced that a project developed by the Try Pheap Group is underway on Koh Tonsay - Rabbit Island – about four kilometers offshore of Kep province. The U$130 million project covers 140 hectares and will be divided into four different stages of construction.

The investment received the green light from the Council for the Development of Cambodia in February 2019, aiming to improve infrastructure for tourism and residential zones in order to attract investments coming from beach resorts, five-star hotels and commercial buildings. Deputy Governor Vao Sokha has said: “Koh Tonsay is a potential island for tourism. We have white beach around the island. This will contribute to attract tourists to visit the area”.

Before Try Pheap Group, the government granted investment licenses for two other companies, but with their construction’s inefficiency and stagnation, the licenses have been revoked.
